Finally Back!!

Hello out there! I am finally back to the craft room after 3 long months! Where have I been? Here is a quick look
As a part of my full time job, my team was fortunate enough to have our experiment go on board the space shuttle STS-131. So off to Florida I went! Spending a week in Florida was fantastic. I was able to lounge on the beach, visit some gators, and of course witness the amazing shuttle launch! If you have not seen one, I highly recommend trying to attend one of the remaining launches! It is beyond words! After returning back to Arizona, my time was occupied by a brand new puppy!I adopted Gus, a boxer mix and he has kept me quite busy! He such a sweetie and Piccolo the spoiled chihuahua is enjoying having a new friend to play with! The last few months were also filled with parties.. some birthday parties and an ever amusing Girls Night In "Pure Romance" party! Last but not least, my best friend in the whole world delivered her baby! She is the most adorable little girl! Now that my world is slowing back down a little I have gotten back into the craft room and created this Father's Day Card using one of the sets by Mark's Finest Papers!
I just love this set called "Take the Time & Father's Day!" The papers are from CTMH Silhouette and the inks used include CTMH's Black, Desert Sand, Bamboo, and Twilight! I embellished the card with a tiny blue brad and some blue ribbons from the dollar bin at Target! I hope you enjoyed my card and check back soon for my next project!

All Dressed Up!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I wanted to share a card I created last night. As per usual this card was created to meet a multitude of challenges! Starting with the layout, I chose to enter the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge which features a fun circle pattern! The rest of the challenges I entered into were from SplitCoast Stampers Challenges The Color Combination challenge was to use Rich Olive and Razzleberries. I chose to use the CTMH Pansy Purple cardstock and ink as well as Olive paper and Bamboo for my neutral. For the Try a New Technique challenge, the quest was to make your own DP. I used a leathering technique by spraying the olive paper slightly with water and then crumpling the paper. Afterwards you uncrumple, iron, and ink the paper in a darker shade to simulate the leather look. Last but not least is one of my favorite challenges, the Teapot Tuesday Challenge! This week we were challenged to use some type of fun shoe in the card! I chose to use the Be Yourself stampset from CTMH featuring a great dressed up lady wearing some awesome high heels! Thanks for stopping by to see my card for many challenges!

Sunflowers!

Happy Tuesday! This week started with a couple of rainy days but today it was back to the blue clear skies we are used to here in Arizona! I decided to celebrate by creating a card using the sunflower stamp from Mark's Finest Papers: Blackberries, Sunflower, and Bees! I decided to enter this card into a bunch of challenges. For the overall layout I used the MOJO Monday sketch challenge. This week was more fun that usual as they gave you a couple of options for the sketch! Second I entered the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge to use flowers. I finished up this entry by playing a few of the Splitcoast Stamper challenges. I entered the color challenge to use Olympic colors and accent with some kind of metal accent.. bronze, silver, or gold! The Teapot Tuesday challenge was simply challenging us to use color but to keep a white base. Lastly I entered the Try a New Technique challenge titled Its in the Pieces!I hope you enjoy this giant sunflower!

Valentine

As we all know Valentine's Day or Single's awareness... Whichever you prefer is coming up this weekend. I decided to make a bag of goodies for my co-workers this year! I had found some cute pink paper bags from Michaels and filled them with some chocolates! After folding the bag over, I used a clothes pin that I covered with designer paper, organdy ribbon, and a paper flower with adhesive pearl to clip onto the bag. I got this idea from Inking Idaho's fantastic website! I added a postage tag that I made using the Cuttlebug die cut and embossing folder and finished up the bag with a chocolate colored cutout from the silhouette machine in a heart design. This project was entered into the AiFactory challenge to use lots of hearts! I also entered the CCEE Stampers Inspiration challenge. The inpiration was all kinds of Lovey themed posters so my project fit well. Last but certainly not least, I entered this project into the Sassy designs By Susie . This challege was to use flowers and hearts! I hope you enjoy my project! Have a very happy Valentine's Day!

Rainy Day Challenges!

This card is my take on 4 different challenges! I chose to do the SCS sketch challenge, color challenge of Bashful Blue Suede Rubies, and one of my favorite challenges the Teapot Tuesday Challenge! The last challenge I have entered this card into is for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge to use a punch. I chose to use my corner punch, Cropadile hole punch and Nestibilities Die Cuts. The stamp I used was from Clear Artistic Stamps called Flight of My Dreams featuring butterflies, hummingbirds and my stamp of choice for this card, the pretty flowers and sentiment. I figure it was a fitting sentiment as the rain has been coming down hard the past few days. I have to admit that living here in AZ, I don't really want the rain to go away though:)To wrap up the card with embellishments, I used some cranberry colored ribbon and thread it throughout the chocolate paper and added some ruby sparkles to the stamped image!
Thank for stopping by and taking a look at my card!

Good Day!

Hello!I hope everyone out there is having a great day and Happy Martin Luther King Day! Today I decided to enter three challenges. The first is MOJO Monday! I used their sketch to be my layout for this card. The other two challenges were for Splitcoast Stampers Clean and Simple as well as the Technique challenge! For Clean and Simple, their assignment was to use the color teal. I chose this CTMH paper that I accented with black and white papers. The large teal piece was embossed using a cuttlebug folder and then layered with the rest of the accenting pieces. On a separate sheet of teal paper, I stamped the image which is from the Whispers of Dreams, Serenity Collection sold by Mark's Finest Papers! The image was embossed with black powder and then cut out in a Brick Wall fashion for the technique challenge. I accented with some white organdy ribbon, adhesive sparkles, and my favorite punched out butterfly! Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Morning Martini

Well I didn't exactly drink a martini this morning but I did have a blast creating this smooth drink birthday card! The fantastic martini stamp from Art Impressions was stamped and embossed using black embossing powder. The olive was colored in using a green gel pen and stickles to give some sparkle fun to this card. To finish off the image, I filled it in with liquid glass. The matting was chosen for the the Spectacular Sunday Challenge which brought the challenge of using black, white, and silver coloring! This card was also entered into the Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge . This week's featured stamper is JDmommy and her gorgeous gallery included the card that I chose as my inspiration for the sketch this week and martini image! Make sure to check out these great challenges! Thank you for stopping by to see my Sunday card! Cheers!
